In Costa del Sol in Spain, you’ll find the Valderrama Golf Club in Sotogrande, a 6,857-yard, Robert Trent Jones designed golf course that annually hosts the Volvo Masters and has been described as the most visually striking course in continental Europe.
But that’s not the only hot course in the region or the country. Costa del Sol is home to 36 courses alone and Spain itself offers hundreds of both public and private courses for you to enjoy.
Costa del Sol is located in Andalusia and it’s only a 50 minute flight from Madrid. Along this incredible coastline, there are piles of amazing courses. Aside from the golf though, you can enjoy beautiful Spanish towns, hike nearby hills or simply lie by the beach and relax.
For those not up to the demands of Valderrama, try The Golf Club Marbella (011)-(34)-(5) 283-0500, another Robert Trent Jones layout set amid the rolling countryside near this famous resort town; the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas (011)-(34)-(5) 281-0875, a favorite of King Juan Carlos I; or the thrilling Golf Torrequebrada (011)-(34)-(5) 244-2742, where the holes plunge into valleys and follow tortuous routes over heaving hills.
The Costa del Sol region is bursting with new hotels and even newer condo developments. But, you can still enjoy the beach, marinas and the numerous casinos that pepper the harbors and coasts. If you’re feeling bored of golf, then charter a boat for a fishing trip or take an excursion to nearby cities such as Seville.
But no matter what your pleasure, whether it’s golf, a cultural adventure, or even a short ferry ride to Morocco from the port town of Algeciras – at day’s end, eat and drink heartily, because on the Costa del Sol, particularly at its many beachside restaurants, the no-frills cooking is pescadito sardines and small squid or calamaritos, usually roasted on spits and, best of all, served with famous sweet Malaga wines.
If you need a golf hotel, Spain has a number of great resorts in the Andalusia region. When your taste is old-school style and luxury, then try the Marbella Club Hotel. On the other hand, if you want something a little more modern and budget-friendly, try the Atalaya Park Golf Hotel and Resort. Finally, for the best in five-star golf, stay at the Fairplay Golf Hotel and Spa.

The global economy has sunk in a very alarming state over the past year or so. Many businesses of different scales, banks and other financial institutions have already shut down and filed bankruptcy as a consequence of our present economic situation.
New graduates and the college or university student population in general are anxious about what the future will be for them. With the economic turmoil, it would be easy to conclude that landing a job in a company that will pay decently would be far fetched. That is true in a lot of cities all over the world. However, London is a city where the pressure is not felt as much as it is in other major cities. There are plenty of graduate jobs in London in all sectors that are waiting for fresh graduates to apply for and they also offer a competitive salary.
Canary Islands for a Winter Escape

If you are looking for a winter escape over these cold, wet months to get away from our short days and long nights, then you may be wanting to get away to somewhere with a bit of sun, sea views and probably neither too far away for travelling nor too expensive.
An escape to some far flung tropical destination might be the preserve of the rich, but what can the rest of us mere mortals do for a winter break? Where is a near by, sunny and pleasant to go to?
Well, in my opinion, the Canary Islands fit this description nicely. The islands that make up this group benefit from excellent weather all year around. Their climate is typically warm in the winter, whilst not always scorchingly hot in the summer, when some of the Mediterranean islands can become unbearable.
Tenerife is possibly the best well known of the Canary Islands and not only is it the largest, but it is also the most populated of all of Spain’s islands. It is very easy for find villas for hire and flights from the UK to the island are easy to come by. It offers several tourist resorts, including the ever popular Play de las Americas, which is lively with plenty of night life opportunities. Other popular tourist destinations in Tenerife include Costa Adeje, Golf del Sur, Los Cristianos and Los Gigantes, home of the massive sheer cliff faces, dropping straight into the Atlantic Ocean!
Another very popular destination within the Canary Islands is Lanzarote. Of all of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote is the one that is nearest to mainland Africa and can be affected by a gentle wind at times. Although in summer, this can be very welcoming.
As with Tenerife, there are plenty of villas to choose from and book and with flights to the capital city of Arrecife taking around only 4 hours from the UK, it is a worth while out of season destination. Two of its main resorts are Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise, both pleasant resorts and neither too far from the airport. Costa Blanca is a little further away, at a guess taking up to 30 to 45 minutes to get there from the airport. The entire island is a lot smaller than Tenerife and it is possible to drive around the whole island in a day, allowing time to stop off and enjoy various scenic spots.

One of the most known and most luxurious Hotels in Germany is the Hotel Adlon Kempinksi. It is directly located on the famous “Unter den Linden” street, close to the Brandenburger Gate. The hotel is visited by many a celebrity, all looking for a piece of luxury when staying in Germany’s capital.
The hotel was first opened in 1907 and today it is not only known for Michael Jackson’s unbelievable appearance when he dangled his little son out of the window on the fifth floor of the hotel: a whole host of famous people have graced the hotel with their presence, such as Albert Einstein, Bill Clinton, Pierce Brosnan, Justin Timberlake and many more. The hotel was built by Lorenz Adlon who made a big dream come true for Emperor Wilhelm II.
Due to a big fire in 1945 the hotel was nearly completely destroyed. The rest was demolished in 1984 and then reopened in 1997. Since then, there are a lot of tourists coming here to have a look at the iconic hotel. Nevertheless, the rooms are quite expensive for a holiday rental.
In total, there are 304 luxurious rooms and 78 suites with 6 of them having been made for people with strong allergies. The rooms are equipped with all the things you can think of: a marble bathroom, a make-up table, under-floor heating and even heated towel rails. There is also room service available at any time of the day. So you see, there is nothing else you could want! All rooms have wireless access.
Furthermore, the hotel has a gym and a wellness centre built for your complete relaxation.
In the restaurants of the hotel you’ll find food from all over the world. There is something for every taste and there is no doubt that all those foodies out there will love it.
When you are in Berlin you should come and have a look at the Adlon Hotel since it is one of the important buildings in the city. Walk on the red carpet which crosses the pavement and have a look for all the limousines in front of the door. You might even be lucky and spot some celebrities.
If you don’t want to spend so much money on a hotel, you should have a look for an apartment (berlin ferienwohnungen). They are cheaper and offer you a lot more room. Most of the accommodation is very centrally located so it’s a good starting point to explore the city.

Yoga is one of the oldest systems of self-improvment and its gentle approach can help even the most inflexible of muscles to gently yield and limber up. The key to yoga is that you begin slowly in a non-competitive enviroment and your progress will come through practice rather than forcing the body into extreme positions when it’s not ready. Yoga is more than an exercise regime; those who study this discipline say that it simply becomes a healther way of life.
The effects of yoga are noticeable too. Stronger muscles, greater flexibility and an inner calm that cannot help but be projected outwards. Family and friends may not be able to pinpoint the difference but they will gradually notice that there is something different about you.
As the daily benefits of meditation and yoga begin to take effect you may want to turn your attention to some of the other holistic practices that are available such as Rolfing and Aromatherapy.

If you’re planning a backpacking trek and looking for some great global student travel deals, then keep reading to learn the three best ways to save money on your next big trip.
Get an ISIC
ISIC stands for an International Student Identity Card. This card is available from most STA Travel offices, Travelcuts locations and other student-affiliated travel agencies around the world. Essentially, an ISIC is your proof that you’re a student, and the card is recognized by thousands of dealers, sellers and travel providers around the world.
Want to get a student rate on your Eurorail pass? You need an ISIC. Want to save on your admission to the national parks of Kenya? You need an ISIC. Want to get a discounted rate at that Australian hostel? You need an ISIC. It’s an internationally recognized card that can save you hundreds on a backpacking trip. If you have an ISIC, keep an eye out for the ISIC logo, you could access big savings wherever you see it.
Student Airfare Rates
Most airlines no longer offer student rates directly. However, some continue to provide youth fares that are only available through youth-focused or student-focused travel agencies. Check with your on-campus travel agency to see if they have any student specials before you book.
Before you book a student fare, be sure of your travel dates. Student fares are often cheaper because they’re restricted, meaning you either can’t make changes to the flight or you can do so, but only after paying a hefty flight change fee. So, before you book, make sure you won’t have to make schedule changes prior to the date of your departure.
Get a Hostelling International Membership
Hostelling International is a network of hostels all around the world. You can buy a membership to this network, and in return you’ll get savings at all their member hostels along with preferred booking status. Not only can you access HI-member hostels at a cheaper rate, but you also get basic travel insurance for a year and commission free money exchange.
but you will save money. For example, the cost of a membership in the United States is $28 per year for an adult between the ages of 18 and 54. However, you’ll typically hold onto between 10 and 25% per night on each of your stays, meaning you’ll often make back the cost of the membership after 6-10 nights in an HI hostel.
Remember, you’re not going to automatically get student travel deals. You have to look for and ask for them. So, always keep your eye out for special student prices, and keep your ISIC or student identity card on you at all times to take advantage of savings opportunities.
Church Hill Theatre and the American Downtown

It’s a common complaint that America is losing its downtowns. Once the centers of activity, many have fallen out of favor and been replaced by shopping centers and urban sprawl, leaving these historic areas to ruin. Eager to see that this fate did not claim their own downtown, the residents of Church Hill, Maryland worked hard to restore and revive one of their best known landmarks, the Church Hill Theatre.
The Church Hill Theatre today hosts plays, magic shows, children’s theatre and music events. Far more than the name “theatre” entails, it is really a center of community creativity, restored to its Art Deco glory and fitted with modernizations such as handicap accessible bathrooms. In the 20 years since 1988, no less than 76 productions have graced the stage of the Church Hill Theatre. There is always something interesting going on at this historic property.
Church Hill, thanks to the theatre’s restoration, enjoys a downtown that hearkens back to the time when they were the places to be on any given weekend night and the atmosphere still hasn’t lost its charm.
Reasons for Aging and Protecting Your Health

Aging, aging, aging – people talk about this problem, lots of solutions offered and still most of the highly developed countries, like USA, suffer from longevity deficit.
Any solution or clue?
It seems to be pointless to try fight aging. Well, you cannot reach immortality of your body, but this very body can function a lot longer and better, if you know that most typical reasons of aging today – and acidic waste is one of the major reasons for junking your organism.
WHAT CAUSES ACID WASTES BUILD-UP
Bad diet can cause acid wastes to be stored in the body.
When acid waste enter the bloodstream, the blood, in order to maintain that narrow pH range (7.35 pH to 7.45 pH), must store these wastes somewhere. These wastes, lodged in the body over decades, will overburden the whole system.
WHAT CAUSES ACID WASTES
Bad diets includes meat and potatoes, fried food, soft drink colas, sucrose and other sugars build up acid salts in the body. Often these deposits by having to be stored away from blood flow, can remain in the body for decades. Stress, both mental and physical, can also form acid deposits in the body.
While the physiology, scientific connection to stress in the body has not been completely established, there exists a school of thought in psychology, called psychosomatics, which maintains that your mental state will influence health. Doctors in Japan, following more than forty years of research and testing, believe that daily drinking of alkaline water can lift depression.
As we have said before, the body uses the bloodstream system to dispose of wastes; these are removed in liquid form, and are often deposited in the lungs and kidneys.
If there are too many wastes to handle, they are deposited in various organ systems, like the heart, or the pancreas, or the liver, or the colon, or in other locations.
Sometimes these wastes are left on the walls of arteries, and over the years can spread throughout the body.
The break-down of this disposal process, especially of acid wastes, is how we define the aging process. To slow down and reverse this direction, one must begin removing acid wastes from the body.
IT is very easy to cure these many problems by introducing your body to an alkaline water. A person must be drinking a water with a pH level of 9.5. Just think of it like this. By drinking a 9.5 water, we are able to assist the body against all the many liquids we drink which are below the 7.0. By drinking this 9.5 water, our children have a fighting chance whereas right now they just don’t.

Eye Care Today

Although the benefits of undergoing LASIK eye surgery are tremendous and life changing, the recovery process can be trying. The fact is that LASIK eye surgery requires a recovery period just like any other surgery, but the effects you’re recovering from are a little different.
Realize that there are risk factors to LASIK eye surgery too, although through research and development, the chances if something going wrong has dropped to less than 1%.
The after effects are a lot like being pestered by a fly on a summer’s day that you can’t do anything about. You will experience some burning and itching of the eyes, but you simply can’t scratch, rub or cool the eyes, since any touching could undo all the good of the LASIK eye surgery.
Your eyes might get very watery and tear up a lot, which can cause blurry vision, but once again, you should not touch your eyes under any circumstances. On the flipside, your eyes may become dry and bloodshot, and taking some time off to let your eyes rest will probably be advisable. While all these effects might seem uncomfortable and even annoying, if you experience severe pain after the LASIK eye surgery, consult your eye Care Information specialist immediately.
You won’t be able to wear contact lenses for a period of time after the LASIK eye surgery, since the contacts might cause additional irritation. Strong perfumes and lotions could also cause your eye to get irritated. It’s also a good idea to avoid contact sports or extreme physical activities for several days.
After the LASIK eye surgery, you might have to use eye drops or artificial tears for a while to help with lubrication. Your doctor might also advise you to wash your eyes with water regularly to help prevent infection.
Your eye Care specialist would want to schedule several visits after the LASIK eye surgery, for up to 6 months. Within the first 2 days you should see your doctor for a post-operative exam, where he’ll remove the shield and check that everything is healing the way it should.
After the LASIK eye surgery your vision may take several months to stabilize. During the recovery period some small visual impairment may occur. These symptoms can include halos or glare due to the healing process, but if it persists after several months, you should contact your doctor.
Five Reasons You May Be Refused Credit

Filed Under Credit Cards | Leave a Comment
Being turned down for a credit card or a loan can come as a bit of a shock, especially as banks and credit cards have been slammed recently for irresponsible lending and really pushing loans on everyone.
However, as the credit crunch tightens its grip, banks are beginning to get a bit more fussy about whom they lend to, keeping the best deals for those that have exemplary credit records.
So what happens when you apply for a loan or credit card? Well, the lender will apply the details from your application to their credit scoring process, mix that with the information that they get from your credit file and calculate a credit score for you. If you attain a certain pre-determined score, you will get the loan. Each lender calculates the score differently, but the following five reasons as to why someone is turned down are common amongst all lenders.
You have no previous credit history as you have never borrowed before
This may seem a bit strange, but if you have never borrowed before, you will have no track record for paying back debts. Lenders would prefer a borrower to have a history of debts that they have repaid diligently. If you have no credit history, they have no idea how you will repay a debt in the future. Because of this, you will be marked down on their credit score, as they have no evidence that you can manage credit well.
If this is the case, try to build up some history by putting a small amount of money on a product that is easy to obtain, such as a store card, and make sure you pay it off regularly and on time.
However, if your circumstances mean that you have had no previous need for credit – you may have paid off your mortgage years ago – then explain this to the lender.
You don’t fit the lender’s profile
As mentioned above, you don’t have a single credit score – different lenders will use different ways to work out their scores. Some lenders may target a specific group of borrowers and you may not fit their profile at that particular time. For example, they may want a particular age bracket or demographic group.
Too many previous searches on your credit report
Whenever you apply to a lender for credit, the lender will do a search on your credit report. This leaves a ‘footprint’ on your credit file. Therefore, if you apply for credit from several lenders in a short space of time, it may appear you are building up too much debt, even though you aren’t actually taking out the loans.
Future lenders could interpret this as meaning that you are desperate for cash, overburdened with debt and even a fraudster using another person’s identity to build up credit.
A good way to overcome this is to apply through a loan broker. They will have access to a variety of lenders and will be able to access all the cheap loans on offer from them, saving you time and hassle. They will also be able to evaluate your credit worthiness with just one search and then put in touch with the lender most suited to fund your requirements.
You have had financial difficulties in the past
Missed credit repayments stay on your record for three years, so while you may be financially fit today, lenders may take a dim view of your past. If you have had serious financial difficulties and have a County Court Judgment against your name, that will be held on file for six years, while bankruptcy restrictions can remain on your file for up to 15 years.
Credit reference agencies do allow consumers to add an explanation of circumstances to missed payments in their report. For example, you may have lost your job, or you were going through a divorce or had an illness that affected your ability to pay.
You are not on the electoral roll
This is one of the most common, and easily remedied, reasons why people are turned down for credit. Lenders use the electoral register to check you are who you say you are and that you live where you say you live.
For anyone not on the roll, the solution is simple – register at once and ensure that you have been taken off the electoral roll at any previous address.
