This festival has the aim of promoting music in two ways. The festival bears the slogan of “faites de la musique”, which encourages amateur musicians to volunteer themselves in the streets. Thanks to the organization of numerous free concerts, including amateurs and professionals, the festival allows the mass public to access all types of music from different backgrounds (classical music, jazz, rock, world music, traditional music etc.)

With the aim of creating a musical communication network, this festival has been completely internationalised: in less than fifteen years, the festival has managed to reach 110 countries over the five continents.

Created the 21 June 1982 by Jack Lang and Maurice Fleuret, the ‘Fête de la Musique’ invited all instrumentalists to express themselves on the streets, between 20h30 and 21h. The success rate of this first exposition was proved when the half hour test time was exceeded! This spectacular event prompted the artists to the creation of the ‘Fête de la creation musicale’ to celebrate the creation of music, a unique event that is simultaneously enjoyed by millions of people from across the globe. This festival expanded enormously in 1985 at the time of the European year of music, and is celebrated today in more than 120 countries over the five continents.

The Parisian region, in particular the Fnac will invest for the first time in an exceptional location for such a beautiful musical event, le Château de Vincennes (or Vincennes castle). There is a lot of charming Paris accommodation for rent for your stay during the festival and the programme for the event is as follows: Raphael, Thomas Dutronc, Mademoielle K, BB Brunes, Hocus Pocus, Micky Green, Rokia Traoré and many many more.

The festival of Cuban music with ‘La Movida Latina’, or ‘The Latin Movement’:
An enjoyable event for those of you who want to prolong the music festival. With the opening act beginning at 1a.m, with SON TRINIDAD, a group from a province of Cuba. The group is made up of six friends, all virtuous musicians, formed in the musical capital of Trinidad, in the oriental part of Cuba. They are currently making their first album which promises to make it into the Latino charts with its variety of rhythms and modern and traditional vibes. A very much awaited first opus can be previewed this week, from the 21st of June. This album includes a mix with DJ Natalia La Tropikal, www.myspace.com/sontrinidad
