Easy Methods To Order Your Checks Through The Web
Posted on May 31, 2008
Filed Under Saving Money | Leave a Comment
Sometime ago, my husband went to our credit union to order checks. We did not think much about the common task and his order just rested in the back of our minds. Ordering checks for your bank account is not all that difficult but somehow, we managed to find ourselves in a dillema very quickly. We simply did not follow up on our order and we did not have our lines of communication open.
The dilemma began when I opened the check account to pay for lube supplies we bought through our local mechanic. There were no checks. I told the mechanic, who looks after all our car repair needs, that I would be right back to give him his payment. I got home and found that there were no checks left in the book. I literally ransacked the house looking for the checks ordered a few months ago.
I freaked out and contacted my husband at his job. I never call there and it’s usually something very important when I do. He assured me that had gone to the bank to order checks months ago. I asked him if we got them in the mail and was struck by silence. “I thought that you got them,” he finally said. “Well I didn’t order checks, so I wasn’t looking for checks in the mail.”
I remembered surfing the net to order cheques, but we had relocated and I wasn’t able to make such changes to our account while ordering new checks. This made perfect sense to me and I was glad that our bank was so diligent about our security. This is when I sent my husband to the bank for the check order. I was beginning to putting in the order. I just couldn’t understand why on earth I didn’t think to look for them. Time just passed by so quickly. The next thing I know standing in front of my mechanic with an empty checkbook.
I called the bank and our usual teller said that she remembered that my husband had come in to order checks a long time ago and we definitely should have gotten them by now. Again, my imagination went wild and I began to get a little angry. Who on earth would take checks from a struggling, new blue collar family? We have a baby and we have a mortgage. We really don’t have enough funds to make stealing from us worthwhile. Then I heard the teller’s sweet voice, “I’m so sorry,” she said. “I inverted one of the numbers in the account and your check order was rejected. I didn’t know.”
I was absolyuely let off the hook to hear about a mistake in my life. We will continue to order checks through our bank. Our favorite teller is extra careful with numbers and we are extra careful to make sure that we follow up on our check orders. As for the paranoia, I’m still working on that.
The Western World Need To Take Childhood Obesity Serious In Order To Control Future Health Care

Undoubtedly one of the major problems facing children in Western countries is being obese and unfortunately this leads to even greater health risks. As a matter of urgency, more needs to be done to check the monster called child obesity. You won’t believe it’s possible but I assure you that if you take the time to explain to children about the dangers of being obese, they will listen and follow a regiment to get them to loose as much weight as possible. Children are automatically atracted to food that tastes good. But this is also the kind of food that contains the wrong ingredients like sugar, fats and calories. The first thing we should do to help an obese kid get rid of overweight is to look at the food they eat. As a parent you must make your child aware of the problem and what causes it before you can successfully introduce a weight loss program. If they stick to it and end up losing the weight, they will thank you for it because of the new found confidence they will have in themselves.
Tip: Read here about childhood and obesity
The developed world has to face that obesity in children is a problem that has to be solved. Every obese child will be confronted with medical and psychological effects that will hurt their health as an adult and in some cases can even lead to death.
Clipmarks & A Legion Of Dedicated Clippers Take The Net By Storm

Instead of linking to entire web pages, Clipmarks lets you clip news from multiple webpages exactly what you want others to see. Digitalsistere, a new up and coming ‘clipmarks Rockstar‘ specializes in clips that are at times hilarious…often bizarre…always entertaining. Instead of coffee for a ‘first jolt of the morning’, this clipper is more of a slap in the face.
Equipped For Social Media
Clipmarks also gives each user a widget for their clips that can be embedded on MySpace, your blog or just about anywhere else. You can also use our Facebook application to share what you clip with your friends. Lastly, there’s a great community over at clipmarks.com where people share and discuss interesting things they clip from the web.
Clipmarks CEO, Eric Goldstein, was a lawyer who was fed up with cutting and pasting citations into a Word file only to discover that the 100 page mess became unreadable and unusable. He and his team launched a first iteration of the product, which Marshall looked at months ago, but the latest version is considerably more fully-featured and quite interesting.
The product is a Mozilla/Firefox or IE plugin that brings up an interactive clipping menu. When you scroll over text, Clipmarks highlights it and allows you to clip it to an email, to a blog — many CMSes are supported including Wordpress and Blogger — to print, or just save. The clips are stored on the Clipmarks server and can be “popped” to the front page to share with other readers.
These popped stories allow voting and there is a running tally of popular stories on the homepage. Goldstein mentioned that there is no way to vote against a story so stories can only rise in the ranks or peter out, not be demoted by nefarious popularity gamers.
How To Get A Reverse Mortgage

What is a Reverse Mortgage
By now you’ve no doubt heard the term reverse mortgage and may well be wondering exactly what this is. A reverse mortgage can be a great banking decision you can make and a great thing to do with the equity you’ve built in your house, especially if you are an older person. A reverse mortgage is a sort of loan you can take out against the equity you’ve put into your home for money . These loans don’t have to be repaid unless and until you move out of your home – if Social Security or your retirement fund aren’t quite making ends meet, this can be a great move for you.
Reverse mortgages were first seen in the early 1960’s and have been increasing in popularity ever since. Every year, the number of reverse mortgages obtained increases. In 2006 alone, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD for short) approved over 62,000 such mortgages, an increase of 85% over the
previous year!
While there are a lot of different types of reverse mortgages available, the most popular by far is a HECM, or Home Equity Conversion Mortgage; available from the Federal Housing Administration. Fannie Mae Home Keeper Private institutions also offer reverse mortgage products, but these are by and large on homes of higher value.
If you are considering taking out a HECM, you should prepare for this important step by having some counseling. A counselor can go over all of the factors of this transaction, such as alternatives to a reverse mortgage, eligibility and any possible repercussions of a reverse mortgage for your financial situation. They can also tell you when the loan will come due and how the loan is to be
repaid at that time. After counseling, you’ll be able to make an informed and intelligent decision on whether or not to take out a reverse mortgage. The majority if reverse mortgages which are taken out are of the HECM variety.
There are some eligibility requirements you’ll need to meet to qualify for a reverse mortgage:
You must own the property in question
You must reside on the property you wish to take out a reverse mortgage on
You must be 62 years of age or older
You must take part in a counseling and information session beforehand
The amount of the mortgage will be decoded based on the age of the youngest person involved
If you think that you maybe interested in a reverse mortgage, then perhaps it’s time to sit down with a provider of reverse mortgage products and talk more about the options and find out whether you are eligible. Working together with the lender , you can find the reverse mortgage product which meets your needs.
If you feel that this may be a good choice for you then sit down and talk with a lender to see if you meet the qualifications. Together, you and the lender can pick the product that is right for you and your needs.

Part I : What Makes The Forex Autopilot Stand Out From The Rest Of The Crowd?

“You can spend all your time making money…”
— Eagles, “Take It To the Limit (One more Time)”
I know you are tired of fiddling with entry/exit orders. Your eyes hurt from constantly staring at your computer screen. You may consider yourself a successful investor but deep inside you know: you have been playing guessing games with your money for too long.
It is time to end all that.
Introducing the Forex Autopilot - endorsed by a number of recognized media companies like NBC, CBS and Entrepreneur Magazine, the system consistently wins a significant proportion of placed orders generating a substantial income for individual investors.
The Forex-Autopilot was published in mid 2007. Since then, it has significantly improved the Las Vegas style guessing games that non-institutional investors like you and me have had to put up with. The developer’s web-site quotes numbers as high as 85% winning trades and upwards of 100% profit per month!
Even though the results posted on the Forex-Autopilot official web site are likely a record of the system’s preformance in perfect market conditions, they are still quite impressive.
What is more reassuring, is that a number of Forex Autopilot customers also report success ratio which are not deviating too far form the above numbers. Typically the results reported are winnings of anywhere from 70% to 85%, of all placed orders with an average profit trade being 3 to 4 times the size of an average loss trade!
While profitability are undoubtedly crucial, what some will consider equally important, is that the Forex Autopilot Software goes one step further than many other similar systems, like the Forex Killer System (www.forex-killer-system.com) or Forex Trading Machine (www.forex-trading-machine.com).
Why? With the Forex Autopilot you are getting 8 Electronic Advisors or EA’s (robotos), which trade for you 24 hours a day!
While all these other systems will also do a good job at specfying the entry/exit levels, the Forex-Autopilot will actually execute the Buy, Sell, Take/Profit and Stop/Loss orders for you, 100% automatically! Imagine not having to sweat the little details. Out to lunch? Not a problem. Nap time? For you, maybe. The Forex-Autopilot robots will monitor the moves of the currency pairs for you while you go about your business. With Forex Autopilot trading couldn’t be easier!
To be fair I should also mention those aspects where the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser does not perform so well. One area where this product is lacking is Technical Support. Presently, support is by email and user discussion groups/forums. Responsiveness varies, according to various customer reports, from several hours to a couple of days, with some extreme cases reportedly taking up to 2 weeks to resolve! Well, every new begining is difficult… As a matter of fact good customer support is something to be desired even with huge companies like Yahoo. Yes, Yahoo - go to their home page, I challenge you to find a support phone number, or even a Contact Us link for that matter! (A lesson to be learned…)
The good news is that there is a full money back guarantee valid for the first 8 weeks after purchase so everyone who is totally dissatisfied with system can return the product and get a complete refund (no issues have been reported with refunds).
Another minor limitation of the Forex-Autopilot is that it only works with the MT4 (MetaTrader 4) platform. Even though MT4 is the most popular Forex trading platform, it is fair to list this here as a limitation. This may not be a problem for new traders who are just shopping for a broker and opening their new account but it may be an inconvenience for traders whose broker does not support MT4. A full list and a side-by-side comparison of all MetaTrader brokers is available at www.fxsoftwaresolutions.com.
With the exception of those few issues, Forex-Autopilot can make you other important things… like counting your money!
Jokes aside, if you are looking for extra income, part time work or a home based business then definitely give Forex Autopilot a try. You won’t regret it.
Flexible hours, working from home, minimum involvement on your part, no sales required or cold-calling required… the benefits are obvious! After all, thousands of people make their full-time income in forex, so why not you?
Of course trading is not for everybody, and you may not like it, but until you try it you will never know. Cherish every new experience that life offers to you - that is the only way to find your true mission! And with the 8-week guarantee you have nothing to lose and everything to gain from this proven system! Leaving aside the very high profitability potential, Forex-Autopilot is designed to be totally hands-off, leaving you free to focus on your family, friends and all those other things that make life enjoyable!

Taking Care Of Your Hearing Aid Batteries With Reliable Battery Testers
Posted on May 31, 2008
Filed Under Technology | Leave a Comment
For anyone who relies on any kind of assistive listening devices to augment their hearing, it is very important to take extra measures to be sure that the hearing devices are always working at an optimal level. Hearing aid batteries are a very fundamental aspect of ensuring that hearing aids are functioning correctly and fully for the best benefit and to make sure that you enjoy a better hearing environment.
There are many different sizes and models of batteries for hearing aids and they are unique to the particular model of hearing aid that you have. Normally, when you are first fitted for hearing aids, they will come with a set of batteries pre-installed and with a couple of additional sets of back-up batteries as well.
How long hearing aid batteries last will depend not only on the type of battery itself, but also on the kind of hearing aid products that the batteries are being used in, since some demand more power than others. Another factor in battery life is how long the aids are used each day.
A general rule of thumb is that the batteries for hearing aids should be changed every ten days to two weeks, although you may find that you need to change them more frequently or less frequently. It is a good idea to keep track of how often you need to change them so that you can identify a pattern, in order to anticipate the supply that you will need to keep on hand.
In order to help you get the maximum use from a set of batteries for hearing aids, it is often useful to purchase a hearing aid battery tester. Such a battery testing device can help you identify the point at which your batteries have begun to lose power and are at a level where they need to be replaced. This is a better method than simply trying to listen to changes in the quality of the sound you are hearing through the hearing aids.
Another reason why this is important is because, as the batteries for hearing aids lose power, the assistive listening devices are not able to work at their optimal level of performance. When this happens your hearing can actually be damaged more by wearing hearing aids with worn out batteries because of distortions that can result.
A good battery tester can also be useful in troubleshooting when your hearing aid products develop some type of problem. Using a tester will quickly show you if the problem you are having is simply a matter of drained batteries or if there is some other problem that is not related to the batteries at all. This should also help avoid throwing out perfectly good batteries in the course of trying to fix the problem.
The best type of hearing aid battery tester will include some type of readout that shows you on a scale the amount of life that is left in the batteries. It should also be a good, durable model that will last for many years of consistent usage and it will be most convenient if it holds multiple Hearing Aid Batteries. There are even some models available that have storage compartments where you can keep your spare batteries.
Essential Help: Summer Vacation Destinations Choices For Families
Posted on May 31, 2008
Filed Under Travel | Leave a Comment
Selecting the perfect summer vacation can be challenging, especially if you have a family. There are a number of vacation destinations that could be considered “family friendly,” but not all are. As a parent, you may be wondering how you can find the perfect summer vacation destination for your family.
When traveling with children, the guidelines used to pick a vacation destination change. Instead of selecting a cheap vacation destination or one that is guaranteed to offer excitement, you will need to keep your family in mind. You can do so by targeting your summer vacation destination to the ages of your kids. There are a large number of vacation activities that are only suitable for kids of a certain age. You are advised to keep these activities in mind when selecting a destination.
Planning a family vacation around your kids may seem challenging, but it is something that all parents must to. If you are concerned with the limited number of activities that your child may be able to participate in, you could work to develop their ability to participate. For example, if you are interested in vacationing at the beach, but your child does not know how to swim, you could easily teach him or her. This action could make a beach vacation do-able for your family.
Once you have decided which type of family vacation you’d like to take, you can start picking a destination. When picking a destination it is also important to examine the destination’s ability to accommodate kids. For example, if you are interested in taking a beach vacation, many families choose to stay away from the South Beach area of Miami. Of course, you can schedule your next vacation there if you’d like; however, the area is well-known for its famous nightlife.
If you are looking for a vacation destination that specifically targets families, you may want to examine vacationing at an amusement park. Amusement parks are located all around the world and they come in a wide variety of different sizes. For shorter vacations, you can visit a smaller amusement park. For longer vacations, you can select an amusement park that is large in size and has overnight accommodations. These amusement parks are not limited to, but are likely to include, Orlando Studios, Six Flags, and Disney World.
Amusement parks are well-known for being “family friendly.” Almost all amusement parks offer a wide range of rides and attractions geared towards individuals of all ages. In addition to targeting adults and teenagers, many amusement parks offer rides and attractions for infants and toddlers. In some areas of the world, amusement parks are the only summer vacation destinations that offer activities that are designed to target toddlers and other small kids.
In addition to amusement parks, many families decide to choose a campground or state park as their next summer vacation destination. Camping is a popular outdoor activity. Children of all ages enjoy camping near a lake, pond, stream, or in the woods. In addition to camping, many campgrounds offer activities such as fishing, boating, and outdoor sports. Families with a toddler may want to closely examine their decision to vacation in the wilderness. Toddlers have the ability to quickly move and sneak around. Being outdoors, unsupervised, is unadvised and poses as a danger for many kids.
Vacationing at a well-know campground, state park, or amusement park is ideal for families looking to plan a summer vacation. While they are all popular vacation destinations, it is important to remember that they are not the only destinations available. When traveling with children, you can still pick the vacation destination of your choice. However, while doing so, you are encouraged to use your best judgment.
With a small amount of research, it is possible to plan the family vacation of your dreams. There are a large number of popular summer vacation destinations that target families as a whole. Booking a vacation at one of these popular destinations is the best way to ensure that everyone will be able to enjoy their summer.
Boxers And Discipline: Practical Dog Advice

Discipline is, certainly, one of the most important aspects of owning a Boxer.
Puppy school is not an option, it is an absolute must to train owners, including kids in the family, how to manage the Boxer and nurture it into becoming a well-adjusted member of the family.
Puppy school is for the Boxers to help develop good habits right from the start. Wait until your Boxer is at least 6 months old before putting him through any serious work.
Trainers with extensive experience and knowledge can resolve just about any behavior problems your puppy might come up with.
Select a trainer who is purposeful and patient. The well-trained Boxer is a sight to behold going through his paces in the class. Their innate intelligence makes many Boxers great successes in the obedience ring.
Of more importance is for you as owner to continue to practice the obedience lessons with your Boxers.
They will best remember the lessons when you include them into your everyday routines with your dog.
For example you can tell your puppy to “heel” while he follows you around the house, and to “sit” and “stay” while you prepare his dinner. As your wake up greeting in the morning he can do a “roll over”. Tell him to “go find the ball” while you get dressed and “go get the leash” before you go for walks together.
Toilet training a puupy is one of those tasks many pet owners dread. But, it can be a lot easier and quicker than you think. Learn more

Debt Counseling Assistance: Legal vs. Phony
Posted on May 30, 2008
Filed Under Personal Finances | Leave a Comment
It’s amazing to think that nearly 80% of debt by consumers in the US is on credit or some other sort of “pay later” method. With that in mind, the average single person’s debt from credit card usage is roughly an amazing $8,000! And add into that an average interest rate percentage in the mid-to-upper teens.
With all of this debt, it’s no mystery why there are many publicly available programs to offer debt-riddled consumers various means of debt resolution. Of all these programs, debt counseling is one of the more preferred.
Debt counseling teaches a customer, very simply, about their intake of money and their bills. With a counselor, you discuss how much money you make and how much you’re spending so you can better avoid adding more debt to an already beefy load.
Being able to understand how debt works and how to avoid it will significantly impact the interest rates you’re getting as well as the loan types for which you qualify. Going through the debt counseling process, especially at a local program is important before you continue to charge for additional expenses.
Debt counseling through the Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) or other trusted agency should be a preventive measure for everyone who is interested in managing their debts, but it is more typically used as a last resort when debt has gotten out of hand.
What is it that a debt counselor does, though? Here is a short list of some of their focus.
1. Credit Cards. A debt counselor can instruct you on how credit cards and their companies work. Credit cards make it very easy for a person to accumulate debt, much more than they can afford. Unfortunately most consumers aren’t knowledgeable about the actual inner workings of credit cards.
Over 70% of people with credit cards aren’t knowledgeable of their balances or their minimum payments each month because most write a check to cover that minimum payment and nothing more. This only serves to make debt grow higher due to lofty interest rates.
2. Financial Management. You will be taught how to manage your cash flow effectively by reeling in your expenses. Through this, you will become aware of your monthly credit card billing cycles. Rather than allowing your debt to increase, the focus will be on debt reduction.
3. Saying No To Plastic. The easy availability of credit cards make it so comfortable and convenient to increase your debt. You will learn when to use cash and when to use credit. Credit cards ought to be “hidden” for casual purchases, and saved for truly critical needs.
Debt counseling is effective in aiding you to manage your debts effectively. Use these services proactively before sink under the weight of debt.
