The Entertainment Value of Brain-dead People

I never cease to be amazed how some people can even find their way to work each morning, much less actually contribute anything to the corporate good.

Here’s an email received from a person responsible for reviewing database and server security for an un-named company. How they’re able to accomplish that task when it’s obvious they can’t even read is beyond me, but life is full of strange things.

Note that identifying information has been altered to protect the innocent and the brain-dead. Pertinent air-headedness is highlighted.

Hi Bill,

I talked to Nora and she has everything she needs to proceed.
The database is active, but you should be able to scan during the time-window provided.

The really sad part is, that this is not an isolated case. In fact for some people it’s far more the rule than the exception. But I guess that’s their purpose in life – to make the rest of us thankful for being blessed with at least a modicum of mental acuity.

That’s why cartoons like Dilbert by Scott Adams are so funny – because they so accurately depict reality in the office (and in life), that it’s scary.

So if you’re finding your day at the office kind of dull, cheer up! It’s only a matter of time until some dimwit will make you shake your head and smile.
